With his redcoats embroiled in the American Revolution, George tends to affairs of Dartmouth Castle

Partly-printed vellum DS, signed at the upper left, “George R,” one page, 16 x 12, August 27, 1777. Appointment of Arthur Holdsworth “to be Captain and governor…of Block-houses in Our Town and Port of Dartmouth in our County of Devon.” Triple-matted with a small portrait and plaque to an overall size of 39 x 27. In fine condition, with heavy intersecting storage folds, some scattered light toning, and wrinkling. The paper seal is crisp and intact. Oversized. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
