Tony Conigliaro

Gifted player (1945–1990) with the Boston Red Sox until he was hit in the face with a fastball by Jack Hamilton. Tony returned to the lineup a year and a half later, hit another 20 home runs, had 36 the year after, but was forced to retire due to his eyesight being permanently damaged. Signed book: Seeing It Through. First printing. NY: The Macmillan Company, 1970. Hardcover with dustjacket, 5.75 x 8.5, 238 pages. Signed in brown felt tip, “Tony Conigliaro,” on the first free end page. In fine condition, with scattered soiling to the top of the fore-edge pages and several scratches to the front of the dustjacket. Pre-certified Steve Grad/PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
