In full: “I sincerely regret that I shall be unable to accept your very kind invitation to be present at the Annual Reunion & Banquet of the Society of the Army of the Potomac, on the 9th inst.” In fine condition, with intersecting folds, one through a single letter of signature, and a uniform shade of mild toning.
