Scarce partly-printed DS, signed “Victoria R,” four pages both sides, 9.5 x 15, July 17, 1848. Patent issued to Gustav Adolph Buchholz stating “that he hath invented ‘Improvements in obtaining motive power.’ That the said invention is new and has never before been Made or Used by any other Person or Persons whomsoever within Scotland to the best of his knowledge and belief.” Signed at the top of the first page by Victoria. In very good condition, with partial separations along horizontal folds, first page detached from fragile hinge, and scattered toning and soiling. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
