In part: “My work leaves me little time for correspondence although I like receiving letters and read every one (I get about 5,000 per year) I cannot take the time to reply very often due to the research and writing that much be done…Tennessee contributed much to the west. I could not begin to list the names but many of the most outstanding personalities, both good and bad, came from Tennessee.”; and a black felt tip signature, “Louis L’Amour,” on an off-white 5.75 x 4 card.
