He is arguably best known as the animator of the rabbit Thumper from Bambi. Two items: ALS, one page, 8.5 x 11, personal letterhead, dated June 19th, sent in response to a collector. In part: “I am very curious about the Halston Methodist Home for Children…I would appreciate it if you tell me all about it…I can think of a few more Disney animators that are not on your list, Cliff Nordberg, Ward Kimball–, X. Atencio, Ken O’Brien. I’m enclosing a Xerox copy of a little design I recently made for our annual company picnic.”; and the aforementioned Xerox sketch of Justice and Mickey Mouse painting each other simultaneously, signed and inscribed in felt tip, “Dear Gill, Thank you for your nice letter. I’m sorry you won’t be in Knoxville, Bill Justice.” In fine condition, with a bit of scattered light foxing to letter, and several horizontal folds to Xerox. RRAuction COA.
