Description

Montgomery Clift

Highly regarded American actor (1920–1966) best known for his Oscar-nominated turns in such classics as Judgment at Nuremberg, From Here to Eternity, and A Place in the Sun. A 1956 car accident which left him disfigured sent him on a downward spiral of substance abuse that earned him a reputation for unreliability and led to his death at the age of 45. DS, one page both sides, 8.5 x 11, August 21, 1951. Agreement between Clift and The Theatre Guild Inc., for Clift to appear in the radio presentation of The Glass Menagerie in September of 1951, for the salary of $2500.00. Signed at the conclusion in black ink by Clift as well as the Theatre Guild’s executive producer. In fine condition, with some scattered light toning and soiling, and a couple small notations. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
