Color vintage 16.5 x 11.25 German Pop magazine photo spread of Hendrix posing with band members Noel Redding and Mitch Mitchell, signed in purlpe felt tip, “Jimi Hendrix,” and also signed by Noel Redding. In fine condition, with a central vertical fold, a small chip and creases to lower right corner, a vertical crease to left edge, moderate contrast to Redding’s signature and the end of Hendrix’s signature trailing into Redding’s hair.
The Jimi Hendrix Experience may have been nearing its end, but in January 1969, all Hendrix, Redding, and Mitchell were worried about was heading to Germany for a multi-city tour. Hamburg, Dusseldorf, Nuremburg, Frankfurt, and Stuttgart were among the many stops, as Hendrix played as many spots as humanly possible to increase—or at least maintain—his cash flow. During the German tour, as was true in the US as well, fans came up to Hendrix, encroaching upon his time and as was likely the case in the acquisition of this piece, asking for autographs. The result is a winner, with oversized items such as this signed by Hendrix truly few and far between. Pre-certified Roger Epperson/REAL and RRAuction COA.
