Pope Benedict XIV

Pope from 1740 until 1758. He promoted science and laid the groundwork for the Vatican Museum. LS in Latin, signed “as secretary of the Council of Trent,” one page, 7.5 x 10.5, October 2, 1721. Letter to Gertrude Paganelli asking more information on the question. Second integral page bears two dockets and an intact wax and paper seal. Intersecting folds, one through a single letter of signature, and scattered light toning and soiling, otherwise fine condition. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
