The Financier of the Revolution certifies the cargo of the brig Superb

Financier and politician, signer of the Declaration of Independence, and founder of the Bank of North America. Manuscript DS, one page, 8 x 12.25, April 28, 1794. An account of goods imported by Morris on the brig Superb, including coffee and cotton. In part: “I Robert Morris do Swear to the best of my knowledge and belief, that the above entry is just and true, and contains as herein specified a true account of all the Goods, wares and Merchandize imported by me.” Intersecting folds (vertical fold to first name; small holes and separations, touching first letter, repaired on reverse and stabilized by professional silking), soiling, and toning, otherwise very good condition.
