Two items: glossy 8 x 10 photo of Besser and a female companion admiring a photo of himself, signed and inscribed in black felt tip, “To Bernie, Best wishes, Joe Besser”; and an unsigned ALS, one page both sides, 5 x 8, personal letterhead, October 3, 1986. Letter to an admirer. In part: “One of these days we might shake hands. Who knows. I am now retired, my dear wife Ernie, have [sic] a very nice house and garden that keeps us busy and we enjoy every minute taking care of it. Every once in a while doing cartoons for Hanna Barbera, and I like doing cartoons, it’s easier than making moving pictures.” Besser has then drawn a picture of two hands reaching out to each other and the amusing postscript, “I’ll never be an artist.” In overall fine condition.
