Astor,” one page both sides, 4 x 6.25, November 27, 1863. In part: “Since I saw you the other evening a person to whom I applied last summer to find a pointer for me has written me to the effect that he has succeeded in finding one…I hope therefore that you will not for the present at least take any steps towards procuring one from England.” Intersecting folds, one through a single letter of signature, tape repair along a horizontal fold, and a some scattered light toning and soiling, otherwise fine condition.
