Description

Aaron Burr

Revolutionary War soldier, lawyer, senator, and vice president under Jefferson (1756–1836), probably best known for mortally wounding Alexander Hamilton in a duel on July 11, 1804. Manuscript check, 6 x 3.25, filled out in another hand and signed by Burr, payable to Levi Edwards or his order for $50.00, April 26, 1793. Clean cut cancellations (away from signature), faint show-through from later ink notation to reverse, and a hint of mild soiling and toning, otherwise fine condition. RRAuction COA.
