TLS, one page, 8.5 x 11, Emmet, Marvin & Roosevelt letterhead, October 20, 1921. Letter written to a New York gentleman requesting a donation for the Boy Scouts. In part: “In spite of the unusual efforts and due to conditions of the times the Greater New York Council of the Boy Scouts of America, of which I am Chairman, is still short $125,000 in its imperative commitments, which must be raised at once. I hope…that you will help by sending me a subscription for whatever amount you can.” In fine condition, with intersecting folds, one through a single letter of signature, and two trivial pin holes to top right.
