William H. Taft

Two TLSs, both signed “Wm. H. Taft,” both one page on his personal letter head. The first letter, dated December 10, 1908, signed as president-elect sends thanks to Mrs. Albion Tourgee, and reads, in full: “I beg to acknowledge receipt of your favor of the 5th of November, and to thank you for your kind words of congratulations and also for the article which you were good enough to send me. I have read it with great interest.”; second letter, dated October 23, 1916, declines an invitation to attend the 200th Anniversary of the founding of the Old First Presbyterian Church. Both letters are double matted and framed together with a color portrait and a small plaque to an overall size of 25 x 14. In fine overall condition. Oversized. Pre-certified John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
