American aviator and executive (1898–1982) whose company produced, amongst other notable aircraft, Lindbergh’s Spirit of St. Louis. Two items: a 5.5 x 3.5 fiftieth anniversary postcard photo of Charles Lindbergh, Donald Hall (designer), Mr. Edwards, and Col. Graham posing with the Spirit of St. Louis shortly before take off from Dutch Flats, CA, to Roosevelt Field in NY on May 20,1927 to win the Orteig Prize. Charles broke two records on this flight, The Worlds Record for flight time from San Diego to St. Louis May 10-11 1927, and again broke the record from St. Louis to New York for his final adventure. Signed on both sides in blue ballpoint by Ryan; and a one-page TLS on Ryan Aircraft Corporation letterhead, dated March 30, 1931, to Mister Childs discussing a new building project and the possibility of most likely meeting at an air show.
