Gabreski was the top American fighter ace during World War II in Europe, credited with 28 victories in the P-47 Thunderbolt. Zemke was the Assistant Military Attache to Russia who taught the Soviets how to fly P-40s and served as CO of 56th FG “Zemkes Wolfpack” the top scoring unit in WWII with 665 kills over Europe.
