The renowned physicist and first female professor at the University of Paris sends a signed faculty card

Polish-born French physicist (1867-1934), she and her husband Pierre discovered two new elements, polonium and radium, in 1898. In 1911 she won the Nobel Prize for Chemistry. She died of leukemia brought about by her work with radioactive material. Ink signature, “M. Curie,” on an off-white 5.5 x 4 Faculte Des Science De Paris, Institut Du Radium card. In fine condition, with a mild shade of toning, and some light creasing to top left corner. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
