Morton,” one page, 5 x 8, black-bordered Legation des Etats Unis letterhead, dated November 24, 1881, requesting a gentleman meet with a few gentlemen “with reference to communications which I have received from committees of Garfield Memorial Fund Associations”; and a brief undated ANS, signed “L. P. Morton,” reading “Please send the letter enclosed to the music teacher. I have not her address.” In fine condition, with scattered light toning to both letters, and bisecting folds to short note.
