Description

‘English literature’s performing flea’ heralds his latest work, Something Fishy

TLS, one page, 7 x 10.75, personal letterhead, May 18, 1956. Letter to an acquaintance. In part: “How have you been getting on all this time? I am now settled down here in the country—aged 74—and am working as hard as ever. I have just finished a new novel. A short version of it will come out in two parts in Collier’s. I think it has worked out very well. But I wish the old days of long serials were not a thing of the past.” Double matted and framed to an overall size of 13 x 17. Accompanied by an August 31 and a September 14, 1956, issue of Collier’s containing both parts of Wodehouse’s story Something Fishy. In fine condition. RRAuction COA.
