Broadcaster who was a familiar voice on radio, from 1929 through the mid-1950s, with his staccato delivery punctuated by the sound of teletype keys. Three business checks from 1933, each 8.5 x 3.25, filled out in type and signed in fountain pen, “Walter Winchell.” Two of the checks have been made payable to Winchell (individually for salary and expenses) and endorsed by him on the reverse.
