Gen,” one page, lightly-lined, 8 x 10, Headquarters, Department of the Missouri letterhead, March 28, 1870. Letter to Colonel Church declining a reunion invitation. In part: “Please accept my thanks for your kind invitation to the Reunion and Banquet of the Society of the Army of the Potomac…and be assured of my sincere regret that it will not be practicable for me to meet your society on that occasion.” In very good condition, with intersecting folds, one through a single letter of signature, light overall toning, and some scattered soiling to body of letter.
