On January 16, 1942, the plane in which Lombard was traveling en route to a war bond rally crashed into Mount Potosi near Las Vegas, killing all 22 aboard. Lovely vintage matte-finish 13.25 x 10.25 photo, signed and inscribed vertically in green fountain pen “To Dolores, Cordially, Carole Lombard.” In fine condition, with lightly and carefully trimmed edges, and some scattered light silvering to darker portions of image and background.
