ALS in German, one page, 8.5 x 11, blind stamped personal letterhead, April 21, 1959. Letter to a gentleman in New York about Dr. Gerson. In full: “I knew Dr. Gerson when he was in Germany, during the time, when he had a clinic in Kassel. From the beginning I was interested in his ideas. When my wife was suffering from bad tuberculosis and specialists considered her, after seeing her radiograph, as incurable she wished, being in bad general condition, to go to Dr. Gerson’s clinic. She did conscientiously what was prescribed in the cure and came back home after 1 1/2 year, in good health. She was 79 years old when she died…I know also that his cancer therapy had good results in many cases.” A translation of the letter is written under Schweitzer’s text. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope addressed in Schweitzer’s hand. In very good condition, with partial separations along intersecting mailing folds, one through a single letter of signature, rough top edge as well as a tear, and scattered toning. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
