Description

American physicist and Nobel laureate in physics. He and his colleague, Robert Woodrow Wilson, discovered cosmic microwave background radiation (CMB), the radio remnant of the "Big Bang," the theory of the origin of the universe. The two scientists were awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1978. Unsigned handwritten manuscript, in pencil, four pages on both sides of two sheets of lined 8.5 x 11 loose-leaf sheets. Signed at the top of the first page, “Description of our discovery. Written for Science Citation Classics. Arno Penzias.” In fine condition, with some light soiling, and staple to top left corner.
