Innovative and highly regarded jazz pianist (1929–1980) who worked briefly with Miles Davis before forming his own trio in the late 1950s. Evans’s influence as a keyboard artist has been acknowledged by the likes of Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea, and Keith Jarrett. Plagued by a decades-long struggle with hepatitis and drug addition, Evans died at the age of 51. Waltz for Debby album signed on the back cover in black ink next to his image, “Best always, Bill Evans ‘79.” In fine condition, with a bit of scattered light cover wear, and some slight edge toning. The record is included. Scarce in any form. RRAuction COA.
