Description

Reagan endorses a “trustworthy and honest” employee

ALS, one page, 5 x 8.5, embossed personal letterhead, no date. Letter of recommendation for his maid leaving Reagan’s employment. In full: “To Whom It May Concern—This is to certify that Adela Filiu has been in our employ for three years. She is extremely trustworthy and honest. We look forward to her return as soon as possible.” Nicely signed at the conclusion, “Ronald Reagan.” Several horizontal folds, scattered creases, and some light staining under Reagan’s signature (mirrored slightly in the text), otherwise fine condition.

Ronald Reagan: former actor, governor, president, and employer. Reagan offers this “letter of recommendation” for a one-time employee, likely in the Reagan’s California homestead, who appears to be seeking temporary employment elsewhere (based on Reagan’s wish for “her return as soon as possible”). High praise from the 40th president of the United States! Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
