Coming to Indiana, Rogers sarcastically requests “an audience with a good appreciation of perfect English”

Western Union telegram, 7.75 x 6.25, signed in pencil, “Will Rogers,” dated January 7, 1927. Rogers sends a message to the editor of the Indiana Daily Student at the University. In full: “Am bringing own racoon [sic] coat. All you can provide is an audience with a good appreciation of perfect English. See you when I get there.” Framed to an overall size of 8.75 x 7.25. Accompanied by an original Indiana Daily Student, dated January 11, 1927, detailing Rogers’ visit. Intersecting folds, a uniform shade of toning, and some light creasing, otherwise fine condition. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
