German painter, graphic artist and illustrator (1895-1960). ALS in German, one page both sides, 8.5 x 11, February 8, 1925. Nicely penned letter with an original self-portrait sketch at the top of the letter to “Fräulein Dr. Heyne,” to whom he is sending one of his etchings. In part: “The small enclosed etching shows you the birth of our small baby, that we just got. Hopefully you have fun with the etching. I am glad that the Graphic Collection wants to buy all my leaves. I would appreciate if you sent me the 150 Mark as soon as possible as the situation right now costs a lot of money and we painters have to suffer at the moment.” Bisecting folds, and some light edge toning and creasing, otherwise fine condition.
