Signer of the Declaration of Independence from Georgia (1741–1804) who later served as that state’s chief justice, governor, and senator. Ink signature, “Geo Walton,” on an off-white 3.5 x 1.25 slip, clipped from a larger document, and affixed to a slightly larger slip, with several words in another hand above Walton’s signature.
