Prominent British stage actor (1838–1905) who was the first of his profession to be knighted. Original vintage 4.25 x 6.5 cabinet photo by Window and Grove of London, signed in the lower border in black ink by Irving, crossing out the printed “Mr.,” and adding “Sir,” instead. Photo is affixed to a 5 x 8 piece of cardstock. In fine condition, with a bit of light spotting to lower border, and some mild edge rippling. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
