Description

Gandhi keeps tabs on his ill friend

ALS in Gujarati, signed “Bapu’s Blessings,” one page, 4.25 x 6.25, 1928. Letter to his friend Dr. Behram Navroji Khambatti. In full: “I am not worried as Bhai Govindji Chedda is on your case. Let me know what Dr. Jivrav Mehta has to say and write and let me know will perform the operation. You must be feeling all right now.” In very good condition, with rough left edge, scattered light toning and foxing, a bisecting horizontal fold, and a pencil notation to top edge. Incidentally, other letters between Gandhi and Dr. Khambatta (or his wife) reveal that the good doctor was often ill. Pre-certified John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
