Letter to theology student Walter Markowski, in German. Schweitzer sends him his kindest congratulations on passing his examination. He writes: “You must have really studied Amos a lot, to achieve such an unsatisfactory result! So it’s agreed: Mrs. Jakobi will assist you on my behalf as much as you need. I’m looking forward to your taking over the parish duties ...” Accompanied by the original mailing envelope. Also included are two other postcards, both to Walter Markowski. One is from Albert Schweitzer, postmarked Königsfeld, January 5, 1929, with a request that Markowski should let him know as soon as he has two days free. Schweitzer advises him to study the Passion and the Christmas oratories. The second postcard is written by his wife, Helene Schweitzer, postmarked Königsfeld, January 28, 1929, on her husband’s behalf, apologizing for the postponement of an appointment. In fine condition, with a vertical fold through one letter of signature, and a couple extra creases. The accompanying postcards have mild overall toning. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
