Neatly penned letter to Francesco IV, the Duke of Modena, reads, in part: “We received news that you assigned a pension of 800 shields yearly to the Monastery of Benedictine of Parma in exchange of a property called Cadè starting from July of last year. We thank you for your action and we authorize the Bishop of Modena to complete the transaction. In the approaching of the delivery of Your Royal bride we double our prayers and send to Your Highness and your Royal Family the Paternal Apostolic Blessing.” Intersecting folds, one through a single letter of signature, a bit of light toning, and a few creases, otherwise fine condition.
