Description

Francois Truffaut

Highly influential French director and film scholar (1932–1984) who was one of the leading lights of the French “New Wave” of the 1950s and 1960s. Among his best-known films are The 400 Blows (1959), Jules and Jim (1962), and Day for Night (1973). Art-house-phobic American audiences likely remember him best as the sympathetic scientist Lacombe in Steven Spielberg’s Close Encounters of the Third Kind. Felt tip signature and inscription on an off-white 6 x 3 slip, with a small photo of Truffaut affixed to left edge. In very fine condition. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
