Scarce offering from avant-garde director Bunuel

Highly influential Spanish-born filmmaker of surrealist tendencies whose Un chien andalou (1928) remains an icon of avant-garde cinema. Though he remained controversial for the duration of his career, he attained a measure of Hollywood respectability with Academy Award nominations for his screenplays for The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie (1972) and That Obscure Object of Desire (1977). Scarce ALS in French, signed “Bunuel,” one page both sides, 5.5 x 7, Carlton Hotel, Cannes letterhead, no date. Untranslated letter to Maurice. In fine condition. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
