It is 15 folios—for long jobs I have always paid 8 & 10 cents—am paying Tommy something more per folio as it is a short job.” Letter is affixed to a slightly larger trimmed heavy stock scrapbook page. Originally from the collection of Noah Brooks. Brooks was a journalist and editor who worked for newspapers in Sacramento, San Francisco, Newark, and New York, and authored a major biography of Abraham Lincoln based on close personal observation. Brooks was also set to be appointed Lincoln’s private secretary but that was aborted after his assassination. In fine condition, with collector’s notations to top edge, and a light brush to signature. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
