Bank check, 6.25 x 2.75, filled out in another hand and signed by Einstein, “Albert Einstein,” payable to Helene Dukas for $67.10, July 31, 1953. Accompanied by two unsigned photos, each stamped on the reverse copyright Philippe Halsman, one of Einstein from his famous 1947 sitting, the other of Halsman and Einstein conversing outdoors. When France was invaded in World War II, it was Einstein who helped Halsman obtain a U. S. visa enabling him to come to America. In fine condition, with bank stamp to body, light rusty paperclip mark over beginning of signature, and some mild toning. An uncommon format! Pre-certified John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
