Description

War hero–turned-western star

American soldier and actor (1924–1971) whose heroism during World War II earned him the Medal of Honor. After the war, Murphy parlayed his popularity, small-town charm, and baby-faced good looks into a respectable film career, appearing in a string of westerns and war dramas. He died in a plane crash at the age of 46. Vintage glossy 8 x 10 Universal publicity photo from 1956, signed and inscribed in fountain pen “All the best Frank Devlin, Audie Murphy.” Some scattered light surface marks and impressions, a few corner and edge creases, and some light soiling to bottom edge, otherwise fine condition. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
