The author regularly corresponded with McAfee, as it was through her and agent Ann Watkins that Woolf would negotiate the publication of her articles. Woolf viewed women in journalism to have more power then men in the field, prompting her to create a female network of contacts. The Yale Review, published by Yale University, is the oldest literary quarterly in the United States and devotes its pages to discussions of such topics as national and international politics, economics, and history.
