Harriet Beecher Stowe

Distinguished author (1811–1896) whose epochal 1852 novel Uncle Tom’s Cabin brought the issue of slavery to the fore of American consciousness and became one of the classics of 19th-century literature. Ink signature, “Very truly yours, H. B. Stowe, Hartford, Feb. 2, 1869,” on an off-white 4 x 2.5 slip. In fine condition, with small mounting remnants to reverse. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
