Description

Ship’s baggage ticket signed by both

Blank French Line New York baggage ticket, 6.25 x 3.75, signed on the reverse in ballpoint, “Love, John Lennon,” and “Yoko Ono.” Ticket is also dated in another hand, “July 25, 1974.” In fine condition, with a bit of scattered light soiling to signature side.

Lennon began putting his post-Beatles life back together in 1974, embarking on a personal and professional path down which he’d travel until his 1980 murder. Throughout 1974, Lennon worked on his relationship with Yoko Ono, and focused his attention on completing an album that had become derailed under the production of an erratic Phil Spector. Lennon's gradual move towards “normalcy” was a complicated, nearly thwarted at times by the federal governments attempts to have him deported on disputed drug charges. Pre-certified Roger Epperson/REAL and RRAuction COA.
