Mondrian working “on a dozen paintings”

Dutch painter (1912–1944), closely associated with the De Stijl movement, best known for his primary-colored geometric “Compositions.” ALS in French, one page, 8.25 x 5, December 28, 1934. Untranslated letter to his friend, architect Alfred Roth, whom he sends the included article (the article is not present), that he send to an English art magazine. Mondrian asks Roth to forward the article to Clara Friedrich and Carola Giedion. furthermore he writes about his work: “The progress on my painting is great. I am working on a dozen painting but the traveling is not over yet.” Signed upside-down across the top by Mondrian, as he managed to fill the remainder of the page A bisecting vertical fold, small hole along fold, some light toning, and a chip to top edge, otherwise fine condition.
