Description

Ringo’s in-studio drum copy of Blue Jay Way, written out by road manager and friend, Mal Evans

Handwritten lyrics to “Blue Jay Way,” written out by Mal Evans, on an off-white 7 x 9 lines sheet. This lyric sheet was used in the Abbey Road Studios for the song which appears on Magical Mystery Tour. Evans has written out all three verses and the chorus to “Blue Jay Way” in blue felt tip, with Ringo Starr making two notations, “Slow R.R.,” and “Shuffle,” in the same pen, referring to the beat and drumming technique for the song. Accompanied by a letter of authenticity from noted Beatles expert Frank Caiazzo, stating “It is more than likely that this was his [Ringo] ‘drum copy,’ which was used by him for the recording session.” Triple matted and framed with a color portrait of Ringo, to an overall size of 22.75 x 18.5. Light folds, several diagonal creases, and a bit of light soiling, otherwise fine condition. Pre-certified Roger Epperson/REAL and RRAuction COA.
