Description

Peckinpaugh reminisces about the old days: “I knew Bill McKechnie very well. We were together on the old Yanks.”

Shortstop who played for the Indians, Yankees, Senators, and White Sox. ALS, one page, 6.5 x 10, January 21, 1971. Letter to a fellow Mason. In part: “I just discovered that I had not answered your nice letter of congratulations on my election to receive the 33°…I enjoyed looking at the names in your ‘Brothers at Bat’ and ‘Fraternal Footballers.’ It must have taken you some time to compile those two lists. I knew Bill McKechnie very well. We were together on the old Yanks. Frank Mills is a member of our Royal Order of Jester Court #14 of which I am also a member. A few years back Frank and I put on ‘Casey at the Bat’ at one of our ceremonials. It went over big and the next year we did it again adding Vernon Stoufer as an umpire.” In very fine condition. Pre-certified Steve Grad/PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
