Description

Uncommon and stately Harrison cabinet portrait

Original vintage 4.25 x 6 George Prince cabinet photo of a very distinguished-looking Harrison, signed in black ink “Benj. Harrison” along the bottom margin of the mount, and part of his flowing signature touches upon the photographer’s “Geo. Prince—Wash. D.C.” mark. In fine condition, with a few scattered surface marks and faint silvering visible only at an angle.

The copyright of this image—1888—was the year in which Harrison was elected the twenty-third president of the United States; the image was likely signed just following the election or within the first year of his administration. A splendid example desirable for its impressive visual quality and rarity. Pre-certified John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
