Two great inscriptions: one in words, one in picture

Influential novelist and playwright (1885–1951) whose works include the classics Babbitt, Elmer Gantry, and Main Street. In 1930 he became the first American to win the Nobel Prize in Literature. Signed book: Our Mr. Wrenn. First edition (with M-N on copyright page). NY: Harper and Brothers, 1914. Hardcover, 5.25 x 7.5, 254 pages. Signed and inscribed on the first free end page, “To Frank Webb, one of the few good business-men I know who haven’t let business keep them from being real human beings with senses of humor, from the author Sinclair Lewis.” Opposite the inscription, on the inside front cover, Lewis adds a pictographic inscription with two sketch portraits of himself and of Webb. Lewis’ portrait is highlighted by red hair. In very good to fine condition, with light toning to inside front cover and signed page, light rubbing and spotting to spine and covers, light separation along front hinge, and faint sunning and a light bend to the spine.
