Eminent Scottish poet and songwriter (1759–1796) who was a seminal figure of the Romantic movement and whose verses and songs (including “Auld Lang Syne”) take a place among the most durable and beloved works in the history of Western literature. Unsigned handwritten list in Burns’s hand on a 3.5 x 4 off-white slip, apparently a laundry list. Ten total lines in his hand listing shirts, stockings, a night shirt, and handkerchief among his items. In fine condition, with a couple light folds, mild toning, collector’s notation to right edge, and light show-through from writing on reverse. Rare in any form.
