Original hand-painted animation cel from “The Flying Gauchito” segment of the 1944 classic “The Three Caballeros”, depicting the little gauchito and his flying donkey Burrito, presented against a specially prepared background (which appears to be an original painting or a very high-quality print), the image measuring 8 x 10.5 overall. The cel is housed in the original cream 14 x 16.75 mat with the pencil caption “The Three Caballeros” light, but legible, and the red “Original WDP” ink stamp; the mat is signed and inscribed in blue-green crayon at lower right, “To Lisa Blau with best wishes, Walt Disney.” Framed to an overall size of 16 x 18.5. In very good condition, with light rippling to cel, as well as some scattered surface marks, and a couple areas of light color fading. Mat has scattered toning and soiling, with damp staining over stamp extending down into small portion of signature and inscription. A presentable and seldom-seen example from one of Disney’s more underrated productions. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
