“Lights-furniture and all paraphernalia for keeping grounds & stands would go with franchise”

Baseball pitcher from 1891 to 1914, manager from 1901 to 1920, and team owner from 1920 to 1955. Griffith (1869–1955), known as the “Old Fox,” was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1946. ALS, one page, 6 x 9.5, The Angebilt Hotel letterhead, no date. Letter addressed to “Friend Ray,” regarding the sale of the ball team. In full: “Lights-furniture and all paraphernalia for keeping grounds & stands would go with franchise—10 players—also—Lease & etc. Just turn over as is if get my price.” In fine condition, with received notation at top edge, and scattered light creasing and wrinkling.
